Ghanaian musician Iva Foreva has expressed his concerns about mental health stigmatisation and his efforts to raise awareness through his new release, ‘Show Me Love’.
In a conversation on Daybreak Hitz with Andy Dosty, he mentioned that people with mental health challenges are often viewed with negative perceptions.
“We see them around, and then it’s like we have a whole lot of perceptions about them, like, stigma is attached to them,” Iva stated.
To address this issue, he has decided to use his music to raise awareness and educate people about mental health.
“So I decided to create something. I’ll use this platform to appeal to the Mental Health Authority. We can use this song as a campaign song to educate people on the need to stop stigmatization,” he said.
Iva Foreva emphasized that mental health conditions are just like any other health issue and can affect anyone.
“Of course, mental health conditions are just like a normal headache or getting stomach upset – something that could happen to anybody,” he noted.
In line with his advocacy, Iva Foreva has released a new song titled “Show Me Love.” The song aims to promote love, acceptance, and understanding for individuals struggling with mental health issues.
By using his music as a tool for advocacy, Iva Foreva hopes to inspire change and promote a more supportive and inclusive society for those affected by mental health conditions.
