PREAMBLE

Movie making in Ghana, as far as one can tell now, has moved to a totally different level. This means, investing in movies should be the priority of individual investors, financial institutions, Private, corporate and governmental organizations, benevolent organizations and individuals, etc…

But there is still indeed another branch or vital area in the movie industry, which movie producers has overlooked. That is producing movies for the younger ones.

This area is what we, at MC MULTIMEDIA, in association with E-CARE CLUB, have decided to make, part of our organizational agenda. It is therefore in this direction, and welcomed news, that once again, for the second time in Ghana, we have successfully produced what we call…

GHANA’S SECOND, MOST EPIC, EXTREMELY CREATIVE, SUPER DYNAMIC, ACTION PACKED ADVENTURE CHILDREN’S MOVIE titled KIKIBUTI, which simply means: “little land of hope”

OUR MISSION

Taking up the responsibility of constantly training and developing professionals, for the multimedia Industry.

OUR VISION

To have a world, where CreativityInnovationExploration, and Hard Work, would be the order of the day. Where everybody would utilize, every moment of his breath, to create something, for the basic purpose of improving humanity.

THE JOURNEY TOWARDS THIS PROJECT

As we journey towards Ghana’s Better Agenda Policy by Past, Present and future governments, we at MC MULTIMEDIA and E – CARE CLUB count it a blessing to be chosen as the founders and initiators of the “CHILDREN MOVIE PROJECT” in Ghana. Today, another history is being made as we launch and premier KIKIBUTI, Ghana’s second Children’s Movie. But how can we gracefully launch this movie without recapping some of the happy and sad moments that befell us in the past years?

The journey has been tough, rough, smoggy and misty. It was like pulling hair out of our nostrils, right from the day we started this project. But just as soldiers at the war front. We decided not to run from the battle field only to live to fight another day, but rather faced all our challenges with a lion’s heart.

We’ve had problems with our parents and family members due to the path we have chosen. In our efforts to seek for support, We’ve had serious and untimely disappointments from friends, partners, sponsors, donors, supporters and possible investors. We’ve been cheated, insulted, abused and confused by superiors whom we thought will help make this dream a reality. But through it all, we refused to give up. We fought our way through to this level.

Our journey towards this project, started with a small group of young, visionary, passionate, self motivated and extremely focused people, namely MR. FRANK LANTEI MILLS, founder and president of E-CARE CLUB, MR. NOAH BOUENOR, Co-founder and vice president of E-CARE CLUB, MR. SAMUEL NUTSUGAH AHETO Project Manager of Ghana’s “CHILDREN’S MOVIE PROJECT” MS. MARGARET ARKORFUL, Marketing Manageress of MC MULTIMEDIA, MR. KELVIN DODZI AMEWU, Chief Executive Officer of MC MULTIMEDIA, and all other hard working project coordinators whom time and space will not allow for me to acknowledge.

Along the journey we’ve had additions and subtractions, multiplications and divisions, but this did not deter or sway us away from our vision of achieving our ultimate goal. The vision of becoming the founders and initiators of Ghana’s “children movie project”. The most glorious and prestigious child event to happen to all children in Ghana.

THE BEGINNING

E – CARE CLUB started in January 2010 with only five talented but untrained, unskilled and unrefined actresses. Before the shoot of MEKEL’S ANGELS, Ghana’s first children’s movie, these actresses were taken through intensive and adequate training, involving rehearsals, grooming, equipping, etc.

In just about a year, the club can now boast of sixty (60) registered members, all with the aspirations of achieving their dreams as Ghana’s budding Movie Stars.

This project, through our undying, unflinching and focused hard working team of project coordinators, has successfully passed through the following stages:

Barack Obama, President of the United State of America, in one of his writings, wrote this:

“Making your mark on the world is hard. If it were easy, everybody would do it. But it’s not. It takes patience, it takes commitment, and it comes with plenty of failure along the way. The real test is not whether you avoid this failure, because you don’t. Its whether you let it harden or shame you into inaction, or whether you learn from it; whether you choose to persevere…”
Our Special Guest of Honour, Invited Guest, Distinguished ladies and Gentlemen, parents and all gathered here, after listening to how far this project has reached, I think there is obviously no reason for us to give up, but rather sustain this visionary project through support whichever way we can.

OUR STORY

Once upon a time in this primitive story, A village built on unity and love for one another was attacked and left with vulnerable, yet helpless orphans.

But these orphans, under the authority, guidance and rulership of PRINCESS CHAKIRA and her Elders, decided to rebuild their village stronger than before. A village, never to be attacked again. A village they named KIKIBUTI, meaning little land of hope.

WHY THIS STORY

If Africa’s development will reach its peak, then we all need peace, unity and togetherness. The African continent will never achieve anything if its leaders are highly corrupt, in morality, service and the discharge of any duty entrusted into their hands. Destruction, war, ethnic and tribal conflicts, political indifferences, when promoted among us, will worsen the plight of the African child. This is the thematic concern of our primitive movie titled KIKIBUTI. Its purpose is to help educate all children across Africa and possibly beyond on the need to be peace makers rather than war mongers. After watching KIKIBUTI, our audience will learn to:

  1. love the people around them
  2. Work hard to be peace makers rather than war mongers
  3. Become responsible people in our society
  4. Possibly be moved to drop all their negative behaviours
  5. Be challenged to achieve excellence in whatever they do

ABOUT THE TITLE

KIKIBUTI simply means little land of hope. This title is a lexical word that is unavailable in any language, encyclopedia nor dictionary. This title is an original creation from the writer.

REGISTRATION

KIKIBUTI is registered with the copyright society of Ghana, under the copyright laws of Ghana. I will use this opportunity to plead to all movie pirates in Ghana and beyond not to consider KIKIBUTI as a movie to be pirated and sold. If that happens, this vision will not be achieved. Please kindly allow me to also use this opportunity to congratulate Leila Djansi, A Movie Writer, Director and Producer, and all other producers working hard to put a stop to PIRACY, a serious menace and canker destroying and killing creativity in Ghana and other parts of the world.

CENSORSHIP

KIKIBUTI is already censored by GHANA CINEMATOGRAPH EXHIBITIONS BOARD OF CONTROL, under the CINEMATOGRAPH ACT, 1961. It is our vision that all our movies will have a universal appeal. We will therefore use this opportunity to commend the censorship board for RATING KIKIBUTI ‘U’. This makes the movie suitable for all viewers.

THE FUTURE

The future of this project is bigger and better as we are working hard to research, discover, test and implement new ideas to create a knowledge base for this project which by far has no competition. It is our earnest dream that, other African Countries will take a clue from this initiative and probably implement it in their countries. In such situations, we will be so glad to be their consultants.

To start with, the Launch, Premier and Release of MEKEL’s ANGELS and KIKIBUTI, is not the end but rather the dawn of a new era, in the history of filmmaking in this country. At the moment, we are slowly but hopefully rehearsing on our next movie titled MIS, a high powered child investigative movie, blended and garnished with comedy, action, suspense, thrills, skills, energy and most of all technology at a level yet to be experienced in Ghana. As usual of all our movies, MIS has lots of education that will turn the life of any awkward Ghanaian or African child around. With MIS, the future is obviously today.

We are hoping and believing that, in partnership with appropriate authorities, ministries, agencies, organizations and individuals, Ghana will experience a total revolution of film makers, who will meet international standards and be the first to be considered to star or work in top high budget films from Hollywood and other parts of the world.

In addition, our plans are well organized on paper, by our research team to add to this project, THE ORDER OF MAGNIFICENCE AWARD, a prestigious award we have short termed “TOM AWARD” The purpose for this award, is to honour, appreciate, celebrate, reminiscence and award these children, for their contribution to film in Ghana. Further information for TOM AWARD, when ready will be publicized.

Also, we have plans to establish Ghana’s First ever CHILD FILM FOUNDATION (CFF). This foundation, aside other duties and activities, will have the primary function of outsourcing funds from wherever or whoever possible, to support filmmakers like us, with the passion to produce movies for children.

With MC MULTIMEDIA and E – CARE CLUB, there is indeed more to come.
