              THE JOSEPH FACTOR  

Our God is faithful, as he made Joseph King in a strange land so shall he make you King anywhere you go in Jesus name, amen.

However, we must remember that Joseph did not just become second in command in Egypt. He went through various types of test and passed all before he was crowned.

So many gifted children of God have failed to enter into their glory because of their inability to pass the necessary tests. Some do not even recognize it.

Truthbetold, every crown has a cross. You cannot successfully carry a cross except you understand what the cross is meant for. This is why many have failed. They do not themselves and why things are rough with them. So they are struggling to make money by all means which is dangerous.

In looking at the life of Joseph, few things come to mind.

1. Joseph suffered hatred.

Joseph was hated by his brothers because of his dreams. They were determined to get rid of him. So they sold him to the Ishmaelites in order to stop it, but what they did not know was that they were sending him to his place of Glory.

Truthbetold; many of our enemies are people the Lord has allowed into our lives to push us to the next level. Unfortunately, many of us are ignorant of this so we keep fighting. What we do not know is that the more we fight, the more we become stagnant.

#Truthbetold; One good thing about enemies is that they push us closer to God where we trust and hope in God and God alone for our deliverance. It is at such a point that we have a better understanding of what we have been called to do. Joseph learnt to trust God more through the wickedness of his own blood brothers. Learn from that.

2. Joseph was a slave.

So after selling Joseph to the Ishmaelites with the sole aim of destroying his dream of ruling over them, the Ishmaelites in turn sold Joseph as a slave to Potiphar an official of Pharoah.

In Potiphar’s house, Potiphar’s wife lusted after Joseph and wanted to make him sleep with her. But Joseph declined because he feared God. The woman set him up and accused him of rape. The innocent young man was sent to prison for a crime he did not commit.

#truthbetold; Whilst Potiphar’s wife rejoiced over the misfortune of Joseph, what she did not know was that she had sent Joseph to the next place on the road to his place of Glory.

#truthbetold; when the enemy accuse you falsely and make you suffer shame and disgrace, hold your peace and get closer to God because you are moving closer to your place of glory.

3. Thirdly, Avoid bitterness

Though Joseph was in prison for a crime he did not commit being forcibly accused, he became disillusioned and frustrated, yet he was not bitter. Even in the prison yard, he did not forget the gift that the Lord had deposited in him. He was a dreamer and interpreter of dreams.

#Truthbetold; many gifted children of God have lost their glorious spiritual gifts because of bitterness. The gifts are there but dormant. This is something very dangerous.

.

#Truthbetold; Joseph could have become bitter with everyone he met from his brothers who betrayed him, to the Ishmaelites who sold him to slavery to Potiphar, and to

Potiphar and his wife who sent him to prison for a crime he did not commit. But he did not. All this could have made him hate everyone but he still cared.

.

Yes, Joseph did not allow his past to stand on his way. He still cared about his fellow prisoners. That was how he saw that the two officials of Pharaoh in prison were not happy one morning. He cared and went to find out why they looked so gloomy that morning. It was that care that he exhibited that made the two men tell him their dreams which he gladly interpreted.

“Why do you look so gloomy this morning.? ” he asked.

.

They were not willing to speak but he persuaded them, not because of any material benefit but because he cared. Joseph could have ignored them but he did not, all because he cared about others despite himself.

.

So after listening to their dreams, to both men he said their dreams meant release from the prison after three days after which one would be killed and the other restored.

.

It was that singular act of care exhibited by Joseph that brought him before Pharoah and made him second in command in the whole of Egypt.

Please note the following:

1. Joseph did not charge money like many of our so called prophets of today do. He gave to them freely what the Lord also gave him freely and was rewarded at the right time.

#Truthbetold; anyone who charges for the spiritual gift God has given him or her is a thief. Beware of such people.

.

2. How we use our gifts determines how far we can go in life.

.

#Truthbetold; A gift that is not used blesses no one and brings no reward to the carrier of the gift no matter how big that gift is. So use your gift to bless others and God will reward you.

.

3. Do not allow envious people to stop you from using your gift to bless others.

.

Truthbetold; every true gift attracts envy and enemies. So no matter how much you have been offended, never be bitter to stop caring for others. This is the only to avoid missing your blessings.

.

4. Do not charge money for what God uses you to do for others. Trust in God for your reward, he will do it better than man.
